Congratulations on the birth of your baby, and it sounds like you are all doing very well so far, well done 🙂
If you are bottle feeding your baby (which I am guessing you are based on the feed times you have mentioned) then Tizzie recommends starting your baby on the routine for their age, which for your baby would be the 8 – 10 week routine (pages 107-108). Starting on the 4 week routine is only for breastfed babies over 1 month and under 3 months.
In terms of popping your baby down before their routine sleep time, this is ok if your baby is still sleeping through until their next scheduled feed. If you pop your baby down early and they wake early from their sleep then this is a sign that they do need to be kept awake a little longer so that they are tired enough to have a good sleep. As you mentioned your baby is now catnapping we would suggest trying to keep her awake until the routine sleep time. Things like little walks in the garden, nappy free play, tummy time and little baths are often a good way of keeping baby awake and entertained.
If your little one continues to catnap after being on the correct routine for her age then we would then recommend looking at the details on pages 175-179 of the baby book which covers the causes of catnapping and the approach that Tizzie takes while sorting through the issues.

Also, just to add, my baby is exclusively breast fed, and we only spent 9 days in the special care baby unit before she was on all suck feeds, so she feeds well and I’m confident that she is full after each feed.
