Hi Tizzie. Can you tell me what is an acceptable gap between rails and mattress? I just purchased a tasman cot with their mattress which is 1300mm x 750mm and there is a 34mm gap in the width. This seems huge to me if l compare to the Boori cots and mattress tbat really dont have any gap. If l get a larger mattress then it will be bigger than the base of cot… trying to get my money back. Cannot understand how it was made this way. It is a shame as it is a beautiful mattress. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards.
There is a lot of information on your website relating to the size of cot mattresses and making it sure that there are no gaps but no much information on quality. I understand brands such a Boori are highly recommended however they are not affordable for everyone. The mattress I have for our cot is not top range and I can actually feel the springs, even if I slightly press on it (but it does not leave a hand print).
You talk about having a comfortable mattress for the baby, so is there anything I can do to make the mattress we have more comfortable as I am worried about future sleeping issues or should it be fine?
This blog provides really nice discussion. For baby I prefer organic cot mattress for the sake of baby’s comfort and sound sleep. Anyhow we need to invest money then why not on a quality product.
